For the first time, you can bring your own classic Defender to our specialists for a full Defender Works V8 conversion. Available for eligible 2012-2016 Defender 90 and 110 models, the programme upgrades your Defender with a 5.0-litre V8 engine, enhanced suspension, braking and drivability, while preserving its unique character and heritage.
Developed and engineered by our classic experts, every conversion combines genuine Land Rover components, specialist craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.

Before work begins, each vehicle undergoes a comprehensive assessment by Defender’s classic specialists to confirm suitability for conversion. Once approved, the vehicle is entrusted to the expert technicians at Classic Works, where the transformation is completed to exacting standards.
From initial inspection through to final handover, every stage is carried out by the team behind Defender’s most exclusive classic commissions.

At the heart of the Defender Works V8 Conversion is Land Rover’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre petrol V8 engine, producing 405PS and 515Nm of torque.
Paired with a smooth and responsive eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, it delivers effortless performance and enhanced drivability while remaining true to the spirit of the original Defender

The Defender Works V8 Conversion extends far beyond the powertrain.
To complement the increased performance, each vehicle benefits from carefully developed chassis, suspension and braking enhancements. Upgraded Eibach and Bilstein suspension components improve handling, ride quality and composure, while an uprated Alcon braking system provides reassuring stopping power and driver confidence.

Our custom paint capabilities now include spectral finishes and duotone schemes, each requiring more than 300 hours of meticulous craftsmanship by our in-house paint team to create a uniquely rich, masterfully crafted finish. Increased interior personalisation possibilities include diamond-stitched leather, precision detailing such as unique embroidery and debossing and an expanded palette of carpet finishes to complete your bespoke specification.

You can now opt for our integrated 9-inch touchscreen infotainment, set within a bespoke fascia, and with easy smartphone connectivity supporting wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ .
It also includes DAB/DAB+ Digital Radio, Bluetooth®, and a 13-band graphic equaliser. An optional reversing camera is located discretely in a bespoke housing within the rear bumper or rear step, including a camera lens washer.
