Our new Defender upgrade programme allows owners of eligible 2007-2016 model year Defender 90 and 110 vehicles to enhance the areas that matter most, from appearance and braking performance to ride, handling and engine response.
Drawing on knowledge gained through the Defender Works V8 programme, each enhancement has been designed to complement the vehicle's original character while delivering meaningful improvements in capability, refinement and driver confidence.
All upgrades utilise genuine Land Rover components engineered to OEM standards and can be fitted by specialist technicians at Classic Works facilities in the UK and Germany. The programme is structured as a series of progressive upgrade packages, enabling owners to select individual enhancements or combine them for a more comprehensive vehicle transformation.
From wheel and chassis improvements through to performance-focused engine calibration, every component has been engineered to work as part of the complete vehicle.
The result is a Defender that remains authentic to its origins while benefitting from the expertise of the people who know it best.

The most comprehensive diesel upgrade combines all dynamic enhancements with a performance-focused ECU calibration developed specifically for the Defender Puma diesel engine.
Engine output increases to 155PS and 400Nm of torque, delivering stronger response, improved flexibility and enhanced everyday drivability while retaining the authentic Defender character owners know and value. We do not quote performance figures for the power-tuned vehicle – the precise details will vary depending on the age and mileage of the base vehicle in question.
Where can upgrades be installed?
Cosmetic & dynamic upgrade packages can be purchased directly through the Classic Parts website for self-fitment or available through your local authorised retailer for installation. For all upgrade packages including those seeking the full performance & dynamic upgrade, these can also be fitted by our specialist technicians at Defender’s purpose-built Classic Works facilities in Coventry, UK and Essen, Germany.
Do the upgrade packages impact MOT compliance or road legality?
As with any vehicle modification, compliance may vary by market. We advise clients to notify their insurer about the fitment of these upgrades to ensure they're not affecting their cover.
Have the upgrade packages been tested or validated by Defender’s classic experts?
Yes. The upgrade packages have undergone extensive validation by Defender’s classic experts, including live vehicle testing on-road, off-road and in sand dune environments, as well as proving ground assessments and long-term durability testing. In addition, the brake components and wheels have achieved TÜV certification following rigorous independent testing for impact resistance, durability, corrosion resistance, structural strength, salt spray exposure, air leakage, and hot-pressure endurance.
Do the upgrade packages come with a warranty?
All parts are covered by JLR’s standard parts and accessories warranty. Please refer to your local retailer for details in your region.
