As an investment, as a reliable classic for self-driving or as a design object of the century that you would like to own, this E Type was born on December 21, 1964 and has exactly this colour combination: Opalescent Dark Green / Suede interior and black top. The colour combination is maximally British and fits perfectly.
Then shipped to the USA, New York. America didn't own any serious sports cars itself, loved the E Type and had the money. Almost 70% of the left-hand drive E-Type was sold in the USA, especially the roadsters (OTS). In 2021 we found this E Type in incredibly good condition and in unrestored condition with a mileage of 88,291 miles and had been owned by an American since 2008. With matching numbers, a very solid body and all important chrome attachments. This is very important for a later perfect overall appearance after the restoration. The reason: These parts, headlight rings, front and rear bumpers as well as the taillights were adapted to the body in the factory during production of the E-Type. There are reproduced parts, but they never really fit.
The E-Type was shipped to Europe and the Nut & Bolt Bare Metal restoration began. We picked up every single screw, opened all the cavities, professionally removed only the body panels that couldn't be repaired and replaced them with new ones. Great importance was placed here on working exactly like the Jaguar factory in 1965. All welding points are correct, every detail is in its correct place and only tin was used instead of body filler to straighten the surfaces. A technique that only a few specialists master and use today.
The gap dimensions and the surfaces, the flat body panels speak for themselves. There are 2 layers of clear varnish applied and additionally ceramic sealed. The restoration took over 2,000 hours of work. After the complete overhaul and before it was installed in the E-Type, the matching number engine was tested with the transmission on a test bench. After its complete restoration by June 2024, the E Type was test driven for 400 km. We carry out registration in Germany with an H license plate.
