This stunning 1958 model Land Rover Series One 88” Fire Engine was supplied new to the Reed's Board and Paper Mill of Colthrop in Newbury, Berkshire in 1958. In the event of a fire at the mill it could be immediately deployed to deal with a situation, ahead of the local fire brigade attending with larger appliances. The vehicle stayed in service at the mill until the mid-1990's when the vehicle was sold at auction. It was purchased by a family associated with the mill who kept it for a number of years. Following their ownership it was sold on to the first of two private Land Rover collections.. The vehicle has completed less than 8'000 miles from new, of which 6,600 miles were completed during its time in service at the mill. The Land Rover is remarkably original and retains all of it's operational features as a Fire Engine.
